Port Stanley (Falkland Islands).

Back from a transoceanic voyage sailing from New Zealand to Falklands along the South Pacific, including the routing of Cape Horn, there’s not much time to get the ship readied before it is time to start a new adventure. A good couple of days dealing with the island’s logistics and variable weather had passed. Supplies, water and diesel bunkers are done. Decks have been filled up with fresh and dry provisions and have been carried and stowed in their place, cabins, decks and common spaces have been cleaned and prepared for welcoming the new group of Voyage Crew. Still some repairs aloft and the sawing of some damage on sails is ongoing; equipment and canvas that is going to be needed for the new voyage, the first one of Europa’s 2024/25 Antarctic season. 

A trip that begins at Port Stanley, with the chance to attempt some visits and landings around the East Falklands and if possible a glimpse of the wilder West area. Then, she plans to set sail across the Scotia Sea and its waters of stormy reputation, to reach the harsh and jagged lands of South Georgia. The trip then continues to the rocks and ice of Antarctica before crossing the legendary Drake Passage to Ushuaia. All areas of our oceans well into the well known latitudes of the Roaring 40’s, Furious 50’s and the Screaming 60’s. 

A voyage of adventures both at sea and sure also on land while sailing these famed waters and setting foot at those remote regions.
