Today we heard the call “LAND HO” from the bow, low on the sharp horizon some small Islands became  visible, the Isles of Scilly. Later in the morning Wolf rock and Lands End showed there contours on our Portside horizon. 

The swell is becoming gentle because Ireland is blocking the N.NW-ly swell that rolled our ship for the last couple of days. Flat water sailing, still full & by on Port tack but aiming for Lizard Point and the first voyage crew with high held mobile phones are showing up on deck.  

Making this good progress into the English Channel we are looking into making a stopover in Guernsey tomorrow to stretch our legs and enjoy another Island in our long voyage from Cape Town to Harlingen.  

As you probably know, the Europa has a special bond with many Islands, some of them remotely in the middle of an Ocean others closer to the mainland. On this voyage we visited St Helena, Ascension, Faial and hopefully tomorrow Guernsey as the last pearl on our voyage neckless with Cape Town and Harlingen shining on the ends of this voyage.
