Taputapuatea marae

In the morning when I was still asleep dolphins came to play along the bow and I can’t wait to see them for myself as well. We arrived in Raiatea and visited the historical Taputapuatea marae, the ancient political and religious center, where a man very proud of his heritage explained to us the importance of this place and how they used storytelling that included the sightings of birds and fish and winds and currents combined with stars rising and the phases of the moon to navigate the pacific, pilling the islands towards you instead of going there yourself. With the navigator as the center of the world, the islands will come towards him. And he loved how the Bark Europa came from Easter Island itself, traveling the route of his ancestors.
